Most of you are aware that the Ministry of Environment placed a six-month moratorium on the transfer of licenses, endorsements, and wildlife management zones (January 1st). SCPO’s sole focus for requesting a moratorium specific to the outfitted game bird sector was to pause further unregulated growth in the sector through transfer while the sector works to design an allocation model.
This work was initiated over two years ago, guided through sector consultation by survey, as well as a round of regional meetings staged in 2024. The current goal is to introduce a temporary model (phase one) to manage unregulated growth within the sector while additional management tools are brought online. Regional meetings are now being staged with the purpose of updating and reviewing SCPO’s work over the past year, and to collect feedback and input on opportunities for an allocation model. The meetings are being held in the following locations.
All meetings will start at 10:00 am and run to 3:30 – lunch will be provided.
Outfitters are encouraged to show up early enough to sign in, view the discussion panels, and be ready to go for 10:00 am.
These meetings are open to all outfitters – both SCPO members and non-members – that hold game bird endorsements.
Outfitters planning to attend are required to register.
